In most cases, you have to complete your high school education in one way or another. Then, you have to finish an apprenticeship and be working on the Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician. Once you have successfully completed all the requirements, you can become a licensed electrician and can work on your own or find a company. Many times, you can gain permanent employment with your host employer if you prefer.
